In the last five years, after a steady decline since the end of the Cold War, the number of conflicts and of victims of conflict have increased. This happens in a context of deepening global and regional rivalries, erosion of international norms, and exploitation of local grievances by non state actors with criminal or radical agendas. These worrying trends should trigger a reexamination of the instruments of conflict prevention and resolution.（报名方式见下）

Jean-Marie Guéhenno

Jean-Marie Guéhenno is the President & CEO of the International Crisis Group. Prior to joining Crisis Group, he was director of Columbia University's Center for International Conflict Resolution. He is the author of The Fog of Peace: A Memoir of Peacekeeping in the 21st Century.

He served as the United Nations Under Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations between 2000 and 2008. In 2012, he was appointed deputy joint special envoy for Syria by the United Nations and the Arab League.

As a former French diplomat, he served as Director of Policy Planning at Fran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Chairman of the Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defence.
